Backups

Backing up your data is very important yet a lot of us don’t do it or find out too late that backing up would have been a good idea.

At minimum you can  copy your important documents and pictures to an external drive or thumb drive so you’ll have them in case of a glitch.

Better would be to have a regular backup regimen like Windows 7’s built in backup or another backup program to an external drive along with some sort of offsite backup.  If you don’t have much data there are a few free offsite setups like DropBox or Google Drive. For a really good offsite solution you can use Carbonite which is inexpensive and can be a lifesaver.  There are quite a few other offsite solutions as well.

Spending a little time backing up can save a tremendous amount of work later in case of some kind of data loss be it hard drive failure, accidental deletion or worse fire of flood.
